Gavin Morrison needs no introduction to most railfans - his evocative photographs of British steam during the glory days are justifiably well known and loved throughout the world.

However, few people realize that Gavin Morrison is also a talented film cameraman, and while out photographing steam he often turned his attention to producing a superb high quality film record as well. Much of the footage in this brand new series has never been viewed publicly before – and certainly not in this unique form.

The Gavin Morrison Collection is a highly original chronological series, spanning the years from 1962 to the early years of preservation after the end of main line steam in 1968. These superb programmes give a fresh and stunning new insight into the glorious years of steam, and will quickly grow to become one of the most important archive series ever produced.

Volume 1 of this exciting chronological series features wonderfully evocative steam days action including:-

* The West Riding of Yorkshire including Leeds, Bradford, Shipley and Holbeck Shed. Industrial Steam from Tyne Docks to Consett.

* Scotland contrasting steam around Gleneagles with branchline steam to Crieff, and a visit to St Rollox shed.

* Western Steam at Aberystwyth plus the last Great Western King in action.

* The West Coast mainline in Lancashire and Cumbria including Morecambe South Junction, Carnforth and Shap.

* Southern Steam main line action in the Bournemouth area during the early 1960s.

* Plus lots of other everyday action as well as some famous railtours including the Jacobite, the Cromford & High Peak tour and the Ribble - Lune Tour.

Introduced by Nigel Harris, with an informative script by Gavin Morrison, and authentic sound from the Peter Handford collection.
